Using soft tissue fillers to restore facial volume

Soft tissue fillers, also known as dermal fillers, are used to restore facial volume, and correct a number of skin issues such as wrinkles, folds, hollow cheeks, and scars. Dermal fillers are considered effective anti-aging treatments, as they can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and enhance and rejuvenate the skin.

Types of soft tis sue fillers

There are a range of soft tissue fillers on the market that are derived from various substances, but those made from hyaluronic acid are among the most popular. These include Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane.

Uses

As we age the face loses the roundness of youth, and starts to deflate, causing the cheeks and other parts of the face to appear flat and hollow. In addition, the skin loses elasticity, and this leads to the formation of deep expression lines in the forehead, around the eyes, as well as around the mouth. These are some of the issues that soft tissue issues can be used to treat.

Cosmetic Injections

Cosmetic injections with dermal fillers can be done in-office, and the results are often immediate.  A very fine needle is used to inject the soft tissue fillers into the targeted areas of the skin.

Patients generally experience little pain, and no side effects. However, some patients have minor swelling that lasts for a few hours. When this has subsided, the face will look refreshed and healthy. The results of treatment last up to 6 months on average, but there instances in which it lasts longer.

The use of soft tissue fillers to restore facial volume is a very effective way to make the face plumper and younger once again.  Treatments are available at the Skin Care Center in Chicago, (click here) so you can contact their office and set up a consultation with one of their physicians.
