How To Treat Receding Hairline?

If you have a receding hairline you don’t have to worry, because it can be fixed. A receding hairline is a common problem that affects both men and women, and they often feel self-conscious about it. So understandably, they are often anxious to find out how to treat a receding hairline, and grow their hair back.

Treat a receding hairline with Hairline lowering surgery
Hairline lowering surgery or forehead reduction surgery is an effective way to treat a receding hairline. The procedure lowers the hairline and in so doing reduces the height of the forehead, and improves facial proportions. When done correctly, hairline lowering surgery produces natural looking results.

Hair lowering surgery is an outpatient procedure that can be performed under general anesthesia, or local anesthesia with IV sedation. Depending on the complexity, the procedure can take 1-2 hours to complete.

The incisions for the operation are made within the natural hairline, so there are no visible scars after surgery. During the procedure the excess skin is excised, and the tissue with hair is moved forward. It is then secured with sutures in the new, lower position, and the incisions closed.

There is generally some pain and slight swelling after hair lowering surgery, but this usually resolves within 3-5 days. However, a support dressing is placed around the forehead to help minimize swelling. Patients can resume light activities within 2-3 days, but strenuous activities should be avoided for at least 6 weeks.

Hairline lowering surgery is an excellent solution for patients with a receding hairline and good hair density.
