How many skin resurfacing treatments do I need to see results?

There is nothing quite like a laser skin resurfacing treatment to rejuvenate dull, tired-looking skin. It’s well-known that laser therapy can improve the tone, texture, and clarity of the skin, and get you looking your best. But how many laser skin resurfacing treatments do you need to see results.

Laser skin resurfacing
Skin resurfacing treatments are designed to eliminate damaged skin cells, and encourage cell regeneration. It is can improve skin tone and texture, and reduce wrinkles, brown spots, acne scars, and other skin irregularities.

Ablative laser treatments focus on treating the entire outer layer of the skin in a uniform manner. The damaged skin is removed, and is then replaced by the newer fresher skin below.  There are also fractional laser treatments that make tiny injury points in the skin, and penetrate down to the deeper levels to stimulate collagen production.

How many treatments do you need to see results?
The number of treatments needed will depend on the type of laser being used, as well as the skin conditions being treated. Ablative laser treatments may only require one session to deal with all your skin concerns. However, non-ablative lasers require multiple treatments, usually 2-4 sessions in most cases. These are normally spaced about 4-6 weeks apart.
