How long until I can wear a bikini after having liposuction?

Liposuction remains one of the most requested procedures in the US. Many of the requests are made by women who want to sculpt their body, so that they can how off their attractive shape during bikini season. Women undergoing lipo for this reason are always anxious to find out the answer to this question – How long until I can wear a bikini after having liposuction?

Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure that eliminates fat from selected areas of the body, in order to improve body contours. It gets rid of those trouble spots that tend to be resistant to exercise and dieting. This includes fat on areas such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, and back.

How soon can you wear a bikini after liposuction
How soon you recover after liposuction depends on the liposuction technique used, and the extent of surgery. There is generally some swelling and bruising after lipo, and patients normally have to wear a compression garment for 4-6 weeks. It can take up to 6 weeks for all the swelling to resolve, so by that time you should be able to fit snugly into your bikini.

Lasers are now routinely used to perform less invasive forms of lipo. This makes it possible to perform body contouring with fewer days of downtime.

If you are doing lipo on the thighs you can still wear that scanty bikini, as the incisions are usually placed in the groin area, and are well-hidden in the bikini line.
