Can Microneedling Rejuvenate my Skin?

If you would like to achieve vibrant, younger-looking skin, microneedling can improve both the health and appearance of your skin.  Microneedling is an effective, minimal downtime treatment that delivers results in just a few days.  But since it’s a minimally invasive procedure you may be wondering – Can microneedling rejuvenate my skin.

Can Microneedling Rejuvenate my Skin?

Microneedling produces real skin rejuvenation results because it helps rebuild the support structures of the skin.

Let’s take a closer look at microneedling to understand how it works.

Microneedling For Skin Rejuvenation

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment in which a DermaPen or similar device with tiny needles, is used to create microscopic punctures in the skin.  The trauma caused by these micro-channels triggers the body’s natural wound repair process and as the body heals, the production of collagen and elastin increases.

Collagen is an important skin protein that works to keep the skin firm and flexible.   Collagen loss contributes to the aging of the skin so more collagen means tighter skin, fewer lines and wrinkles, and a more youthful complexion.

Elastin is also a part of the skin’s support structure and helps it snap back into shape when stretched.  An increase in skin elasticity makes the skin smoother, firmer, and more youthful.

Microneedling also rejuvenates the skin by accelerating cell turnover.   Slow cell turnover visibly ages the skin and reduces its elasticity and natural luster, but microneedling helps bring back that youthful glow.

The healing response generated by the microneedling treatment also improves skin issues such as sun damage, mild acne scars, and enlarged pores.

A series of 3-6 microneedling treatments is recommended for optimal results.
